Does the blower motor come on when you push defrost? Maybe the blower motor is dead. If you start taking things apart at the base of the windshield try whacking the motor with a wrench. I got mine the turn on that way. I found that if the motor doesn't turn the LEDs in the push button assembly flicker unevenly.
