It appears my '87 L7 needs front calipers, and I need opinions/advice on new vs. remanufactured parts. I;m not certain, but I recall that someone once advised that I avoid reman'd calipers. I've just spent much on various repairs--and, after leaving the car with Checkpoint BMW, Buffalo, NY, virrtualyl all last summer, I still need to a.) get a/c reworked (i.e., installed new compressor, receiver-dryer--but output is barely cool and is grossly insufficient); b.) cruise switch--maybe control unit--replaced. Accordingly, cost is an issue; if I can get by with rebuilt calipers @ $75 (rather than $200), I may be able to get the car on the road for my son (US Navy, Charleston, SC). Any help will be much appreciated.

calipers are probably the simplest things to rebuid. not a lot to them, just bores, pistons and
rubbers. any fault would be apparent from the get go. Go for the rebuilt.
