I lowered my 86 725i with H+R springs in conjunction with Bilstein HD shocks and struts. The post above that states a 2.5" lowering, is a litle lower than my actual results, which were about 2.0". However, they are both lower than the 1.6" that H+R advertises.

I haven't encountered any bottoming out difficulties, and Adel is just plain wrong when it comes to the handling part. My E23 goes through the corners 200% better than before, no body roll that these babies were noted for, and it clings to the road rock steady. (Not as good as my M6, but better than before by far.)

I just bought the Racing Dynamics body kit for this car, and when it has beene installed and repainted - full job, down to primer with all trim and windows removed - I will post soem pictures. I saw the link above, and I think that the lowered E23 looks damn good, if not unusual for a big luxury sedan. But then again, it's not some old man's Mercedes or Cadillac.
