Good idea with the insurance.

My situation is going to change soon. I am heading off to Uni in September. Currently, after finishing my A-levels, I am on my 'gap year' (holiday year). I am going out to Greece to teach water sports.

Then I come back, and Uni is in september in London. There is no chance of having a car there as it is way too expensive. What i am thinking is to keep my E30 insured under my parents name, and insure it for the odd weekend that I come home to get my laundry done.

I know little about serious mods to cars, but I would be careful about removing a roof from a saloon, as it could weeken the car?

It would look quite cool though. I would definately go for a 2 seater sports pick-up. I would NEVER consider buying a Ford Normal, Of a Vauxhall Ordinary, as a car is just more than getting from A2B in. I am always on the look out for cars that are a little different - that why I like my E30 (and all other Beemers). I think that if the Mod was done well, and it was for sale in one of the BMW mages, £2k would be the least you would get.

If I was in a different situation, then I would consider getting something more adventureous.

Jaz
