I did check and it was Fuse #1. I guess I waspreparing myself for a much bigger problem and ignoring the obvious. Thanks for the help.

If I recall correctly I think they fuse them that way so if one fuse goes out you still have high beams on both sides. And it would make sense that the high beam indicator is supplied by a high beam fuse. You are fortunate that you have the new style fuses which aren't so subject to corrosion, but it is harder to tell when they blow.
