Thanks for the advice, however I also have some Hela diriving lights to add also.

These are not new, and I don't have instructions. There is only two wires from each lamp. I tried earlier to clip the wires onto the connectors on the dip beam headlamps on the car, - would this be the right thing to do, or would it overload the lights in anyway.

Sorry to be so vague and unknowledgeable - I am not great at wiring, and am just looking to clip the wires onto something with the existing headlights (ie the Hella ones light up when the dip beams do).

Many e30s came with fog lights. Check the junkyards for the switch location and switch.

Do not wire the driving lights to the lo(dip) beams. Too much load The proper way utilizes a relay and a fused supply.
