I have a 1980 733i. Where is all the water in my trunk coming from. The seal around my truck seams to be fine. Do the drain tubes for the sunroof or the vents on the rear roof piller go through the trunk. My dad has a 1983 528e with the same problem. I live in western Washington in the US and it rains all the time so i can't use my truck for anything unless it is plastic!

When I have water in the trunk I buy new tail ight gaskets and a new trunk seal. The trunk seal may look fine but I think they shrink and compress over time. When the new trunk seal is installed you can feel a tighter seal around the trunk and I see that the water problem is eliminated. mike
