You can take the wiper switch apart and clean the contacts. After drilling out the rivets, I use small nylon ties to keep it together. Also check the wiper relay, in fuse box, for solder joint cracks. Reflow if neccessary and clean the internal relay contacts.

Is there an obvious reason for my '83 733i not having high speed on the wiper motor? It simply stops on that setting.

By the way, I think this board is great for a person like myself trying to find his way with a complex car. My previous experience with extensive car repair was (is) a 1964 MGB which is like a toy in comparison. This makes the job more fun and obviously less expensive. I'm an engineer, not a mechanic, and I need all the help I can get.

I really appreciate the help and I still have about 10 other maintenance items to work through.
