and you will need to pull the console to get to it. The shifter switch is a prime suspect in erratic shifting behaviour. The switch needs to be taken apart and the contact surfaces need to be inspected and cleaned.

The relay behind the speaker cover panel is easy to access and replace. Pull the panel and the relay is attached to the back of the speaker panel. It is easy to swap out and replace. 10 minute job.

Don't go pulling the damn center cosole out as was recommended to me. I was told to check the ground from the switch button, but it goes into a were harness and is not really traceable.

My next step is to pull the plug cover on the tranny itself and get to the connectors and check them on mine.

If you get there first, please report back what you found and there is a fix.
