Anyone out there recommend a CD player ..........

.......I was considering a Pioneer DEH-P6400...

James,

I bought a Pioneer DEH-P330. It sounds good (I
love the "Super Base" EQ. The controls are easy
to use, and the FM reception is very good. It
dosen't look very good in the dash though, as
the silver/dark grey color kind of clashes with
the flat black. O painted the bezel (and took
apart the face plate to paint the grey area) semi-
gloss black and now it looks much better. I still
am undecided about the illumination- the green but-
tons don't match the car's orange dash lights, which
may be a good thing because at a glance, I can
find the radio controls. Can you say color coded? My major complaint, and the reason I'd hesitate to
buy another, is the face plate is VERY difficult
to reinstall, even in daylight, as those little
pivot pins are a PITA to line up. Now try it at
two A.M after a night out....
I use four Pioneer TS-A1665 6 1/2" speakers, which
took a bit of work to fit, but sound great. And with
my ten inch sub woofer, and its 80watt Alpine amp I
can blur the rear veiw mirror and give my self
a vibration massage!

Go to www.crutchfield.com- not just to buy, but to
check out the specs. aside from the drawbacks, it is an excellent system.
