Thanks. It was the center mount and the U joints
looked ugly so I had the shaft sent
out and balanced etc. New bearings, new ride.
Did locate a good transmission though and
have stockpiled it for the future.
Also found out the "85" 735i doesn't use
the electronic transmission. Which
made it a drag trying to find one.
All kinds of the electronic ones out
there.

Why don't you look at this first,
on the rear part of the transie are
2-rubber mounts, these crak very often,
they can cause what you are describing,
if thats the cas maybe $20
