You gotta drop the housing completely out to change the filter. Good idea anyhow to check the innards and clean residue off the bottom.

And after trying a hour and a half oil change I want to know if the oil casing is supposed to come out to get the new filter in there or do you kind of just add the filter while is is just hanging in there.
