I am still trying to get my hestitation problem to go away. It works fine at gradual acceleration and idles well and runs well to 50mph. At hard acceleration, rpm ranges between 2000-3000, and above 4000 the engine bogs. RPMs will drop and stutter. Tach shows wild swings from 1500 to 4000 on high speed hard acceleration (passing). I can cruise at 3000 (65mph) no problem but not at 2500 (~60mph) tach will swing from 2000 to 2500.

I have changed plugs, wires, distributor, fuel filter, O2 sensor, fuel pressure regulator. Set valves. Performed exorcism and sacrificed goat.

I am planning on checking the voltage settings on the TPS and check the AFM, but haven't done anything yet. What should I look for? I appear to have good vacuum (not measured). I have checked the hoses, and if I pull the dipstick, idle drops. I tried the local dealer for suggestions (changed plugs). They are baffled by something this old. Without computer printouts they are useless.

Idle is normally really good. All my part replacements have certainly cleaned that up. It used to be a little rough.

My real fear is that I might have transmission issues. The oil was dark and I had it flushed. It shifts hard under acceleration, but is unclear with the RPMs all over the map.
