I don't know which I prefer personally.
Aiwa makes products which are good value for money. No complains heard on Aiwa products.

Kenwood has been my personal choise since the 70ties, many people in UK know Kennwood only for white household goods.
I liked them since the KR950 Receiver was better than the Revox receiver @ 3x the price.
Very happy with Kenwwod but little experience on Car Steros.

I believe I would choose by features and then by design.
Since I consider the Kenwood to look more elegant than the Aiwa, I personally would choose it for an E23. I think it's more in tune with the car.

If I had a more boaringly windtunneled exterior car design and a smaller car I possibly go more with the avantgarde design of the Aiwa unit.

Then there are the Blaupunkt units. I personally like the design of the MP300 best.
It's clean and uncluttered and I think looks best in an E23.
