No voltage to boost soleniod wires (archive)

I just got another boost soleniod thinking that was the problem. Turns out, I called Jon Jacobs, and he told me to test them out, and how to test them. They both ended up working. I immediatley checked the voltage to the plug thet plugs into the solenoid. No voltage. I hav one question, does the engine have to be above idle, or will should it get voltage at idle. Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to just get the chip and do away with the solenoid and all of that and call it a day.
