I have the same issue with my car. I know there are two bulbs up above, but where are the other bulbs located if any please? What are blackened bulbs?

My 85 735 dash light level seems to be too low.I have replaced the two big bulbs and moved the light level adjuster to the maximum but it is still difficult to read the dials a night.I have owned SAABs befor and the lighting was perfect.Is this a common feature of this car or can i improve it?
