may be a clogged expansion valve in the evaporator. Also, there is a drain from the evaporator to the outside. It may be clogged. Has this drain ever been checked. There may also be a coolant leak in the car. Is the water feel like oil(slippery) or just like regular water?

What to do? There's condensation building on this, dripping on the carpet and making a mess.

The other problem is there is also wet carpet on the driver's side. Really wet. It doesn't correspond with the rain - so none of the usual culprits, ie sunroof, light covers. I'm just wondering (hoping?) how this might all be from this same drip. How do I stop this drip? What's the material they had on there? When my mechanic converted the freon, could they have caused this?

Also, I have the dash apart on my 84 733i. If anyone wants pictures of anything, let me know and I will do the best I can.

Where's a good place to get the plastic connectors for the vacuum hoses?

This would all be daunting, but after a long day, I got a beer (12, actually.) a light, and went outside and made a perfectly driveable car undrivable. What a way to end a day. : )
