When I was going home to visit the Family near Aachen I bought an old Cortina for DM50 and drove off from Berlin towards the West. When it died half way, I had the choice off being towed back or to scrap it. In the case off scraping I was entitled to up to $250(in 1980)for a car hire.
That was the first time I ever drove an AVIS 728i for an entire weekend.
Although less than one year old, it failed on me with it's central locking.
I guess when you're young and smart one does play the system.
So just as Adel suggest. The best possible cover you can get is recommendable, since if anything happens, it will cost you more.
