Maybe but...
The local guys are con merchants!!!
My friend got hs done at one of the local (NOTE: my dealer is local) places and it cost him more to have 2 discs and pads replaced than it cost me to have all four done at the dealer. It ended up costing me about AUD$450 (about US$200)for all four discs and pads at the dealer. I've never gotten any better pricing anywhere else. Regardless of the car, or who I took it too. Maybe where you are you have got good local service guys. I don't

Matt

The previous post talked about buying parts locally... and installing them at home... I would NEVER let some high-school dropout do my brakes...

An informed consumer is a wise consumer... that is one of the nice things about this group in that we share info on (among other things) who has the best prices and service. The dealers are good for somethings... and it seems to be a good idea (at least in Atlanta) to keep a working relationship and keep your face known at the local dealer.... There are just some things that a dealer willl do that discounters don't want to risk.. (like OEM window glass... ) I appreciate the fact that alot of what is passed around here is USA specific. I have lived outside the States in the Pacific, Europe and South America for about 12 of the last 20 years... and completely understand that auto MX and replacement parts is a completely different game in other parts of the world. Even in Europe I didn't find the level of price competition on parts that I find here in the USA. You have my sympathies....

Regards

John Stein
