Won the ebay auction on Friday. Hit the road and drove all night with a friend Friday night. Got into Halifax, MA early Saturday. Flushed the cooling system about 10 times (it looked like coffee), and drove home. All I remember is pulling into NYC well after midnight and, trying to follow the signs for the freeway, we all of a sudden weren't on the freeway anymore but city streets and saw a sign "Brooklyn" or "The Bronx"!!! Needless to say I didn't want to roll down my window to ask for directions!!! Then we saw the signs for the freeway and all was well.

I did just that in February to bring home a plum 745i, except it was more like 2400 miles from Philly back here to Utah! Last November I did the same thing, flew out and brought back an ///M6 from Paradise CA, about 800 miles.

And I am a 40-something business man with a family waiting at home AND a schedule to keep!

Both turned out to be quite the adventure, and I would do it again in a heartbeat for the right car!

Worst case, rent a U-haul and stuff it in the back for the rest of the trip home!

Within ~300 miles I would have called someone to bring a dolly out to drag it home.

Hopping in a car you don't know and driving it for 750 miles ??? Not to mention that it's a 16 yrs old car...anything can go on it...from the fuel pump to the i-dunno-what... ! Sure I would do it , but then again I am an irresponsible 22 yrs old student with lots of time to waste, not a professional businessman with family waiting at home and a schedule to keep up to !
