I have a 1981 745i motor. The top end had just been rebuilt. The head has no BMW casting marks or year or "turbo" cast into it. I assume it is an aftermarket head. It only has the cast "AMC 355". It has the proper diameter exhaust studs and the ports are polished jsut like my other 745i heads. It has brass valve guides. My questions.
1. Does anyone know who manufactured this head.
2. Are the combustion chamber sizes equal on all 745i heads?

I bought this engine specifically for its 7:1 compression ratio. I am wondering if the cylinder head combustion chamber is the same size on this head as the original head.
Thanks,
Todd
