I read that the switchable auto trans (S/E/321) has the 321 mode as a hold for those gears. I am about to buy an 86 635CSi with this trans. I was wondering how that 321 mode works, and exactly what it does. I heard that it holds the gear you're in (i.e. like before gonig around a corner, etc). Is that true. Also, if in 4th, will moving the switch to that position downshift? Can downshifts (ie before turns) be made by using the lever and pulling it into 3?
