I've been chasing similar bugs through my '79 633 and have had a booger of a time. Your a/c not working should be traced as a seperate issue as the heat and ac use seperate fan motors. The cooling fan is below the radio and the heat is under the hood. As far as the airflow, there is a plastic u-joint on the end of the knob rod that is bad about breaking, resulting in you only turning the knob and about 10" of rod, not the actual diverter device.
Good luck
: So I love my six, bought it last year and am having it completely redone as origional... Saphire blue, with dark blue leather int. it's in the works right now, but I want it to run as good as it's going to look.
: I was wondering if anyone could help with these issues, the Heater / AC doesn't work too well, the fan shuts off when turned to cold, I think the AC is out of commission all together, as well as the heater, that only seems to blow hot air at the windshield and not at the interior.
: The only other thing is that the valves make a little noise, and there is a puff of smoke on start up... any ideas on how to fix / repair these problems? or perhaps the cost of repair?
: All the best, always love to hear from fellow 6er lovers!
