What's the trick to remove seat backs? (archive)

I have a non functioning head rest (no movement, but the motor works). I found a fix on the E24 FAQ site, but I haven't figured out the trick to remove the seat back. I have a 85 635 w/ electronic black leather Recardos. Thanks for any tips.
