Tire and rim suggestions for 85 M635. (archive)

I just purchased a very clean 85 m635 from original owner importer w/all records. Still has TRX tires and original silver 3 pc BBS rims. I'd like to swap the wheels and tires, do I go 17 or 18" and which width? Any tire choice that is a good compromise dry/wet. Car will never see snow. Interested to see what has been successful.
