: I just experienced a wierd problem taking the car out this weekend. Driving along just fine when all of a sudden, a quick sputter as if all power was lost for an instant. Did not reoccur until tonite while accelerating in 2nd gear. A brief, BLAH!!, and then it kept on running. I did not notice any lights go out as I was driving in the night, just seemed to be ignition. Anyone have any thoughts???
: TIA

Hello Nathan,
Sounds very familiar. I would first look at oxegen sensor. The driver's handbook states that the sensor should be replaced ever 50,000 kilometers. It has been my experience that most people forget about the sensor; but more important is the true fact that a test of the sensor will not tell a full story. I have had a cut in performance while driving. Checked the sensor found it to be ok. Replaced the sensor anyway never had a problem since. If sensor has not been changed for a while, it can be a pain getting it out. Threads seized be paitent.
all the best Keith
