the knob is not for the radio (archive)

: : My '79 633 had a hard life and has spent the last 3 years being rebuilt in my spare time. I am about ready to hit the street but have a few gremlins to cure.
: : #1,Does the interior light have a timer and if so, where is it? The pass door lights it but the drivers doesn't, the switch is ok and is designed to accomidate a time delay circuit.
: : #2 The head lamps won't turn off if left on hi beam. Turning off the switch and ignition leave the headlamps only, burning indefinitly.
: : #3 what is the rotatable knob near the drivers right knee? It seems to have no effect on anything. Could it be related to #1 or #2?
: : #4 is there any method for trouble shooting the central locking system? None of the power locks will activate, doors, fuel, or trunk.

the knob buy your knee is a switch that used to level the headlights when you had passengers in the back seat I believe most eurocars had them deactiveated when the cars were federalized shouldn't have anything to do with your problems.
