M6 Buffalo Leather in Distress--Help me please (archive)

I just purchased a 1985 M635 Euro. The buffalo hide seats have lost some of their black color. There are no tears or cracks but I would like them to be black again. Is there a dye that works well on the buffalo? I did not think that the vinyl type of dyes would be a good idea. Please let me know if you have any answers. Thanks, Karl
