: They actually have different engines (M88 vs. S38). In addition, the M635 has headers, while the M6 has a manifold. The M635csi has 30 more hp, is around 250 lbs. lighter (no self-leveling rear, among other things) and about a second quicker to 60 than the M6. I would call all these significant differences.

: :
: : : : 1 ...no all M6's are m635csi's

: : : This is incorrect. M6's (at least as sold in the US) differ significantly from M635s.
: :
: : the only reason us cars differ is (1)they are later years with electrical do-dads (2) emmisions controls the model designation is still "m635csi" it was "nicknamed" the m6

all these are good points which is why i purchased a euro instead of a us model. electrical do-dads = power seats, self leveling suspension , all that unnessasary stuff
emission controls = exhaust differences etc.(catalytic converter, oxygen sensor ,lower 9.8:1 compression, and yes even a different head.)
