Keep in mind that ALL BMWs with the 5 lug pattern use a 5-120 bolt pattern. You could fit 850 wheels on your 6 car, and it might even roll, but your mechanic will be happier that a pig in grease when he has to replace your entire front end from wobble, bushings, ball joints, etc. The BBS is a very light wheel, but 12mm is a HUGE difference in offset! WHEW! I am a 6 car guy, but I think the 10mm is for early 5 series, or maybe even certain 3 series, (New M3, etc.) Don't quote me, however! BBS should manufacture a 22 or a 20 offset for you in a similar, if not the same wheel. The 3 piece bbs are high dollar, but man, when you walk out in the morning, and see her sitting there with those wheels, you'll wonder why you got married!!! :)
Also remember that a German, with alot of degrees in Physics and Engineering, at one point designed that 6 from the ground up, starting at the wheels/tires. The entire suspension can be compressed to funny angles when you change offset, or even the aspect ratio of your tires! This effects your contact patch (which, believe me, BMW knows down to the nonometer!) and can cause vibration, understeer, even mistracking when braking/hard accelerating! Ask anyone with 18" wheels, even the correct offset, on an older Bimmer, unless thay are ashamed, they'll probably admit to decreased handling, ride comfort, etc. The 18s look great on 6 cars, don't get me wrong. They just drive like junk...
Anyway, just stray from a wheel that is that far from your orig offset. Keep in mind, too, that you should keep relatively the same width on your front wheels/tires, as well as height or aspect ratio. The rear can be increased if you do not wish to rotate tires, just watch your camber!
HAPPY MOTORING!
