I do not want to put oil on the fire but I believe that driving a car is more that just accelerating with one foot and braking with the other one.
While not owning the truth, I think that changing gears, downshifting and always being in the proper rev range with the proper gear makes a car go faster and gives a certain finesse to the driving experience. But this is very personal. I will not alienate anyone with a slushbox.
