While I DO believe that real enthisiasts SHOULD enjoy driving a manual-bimmer much more in the right conditions, that same manual car can be a real PITA in the kind of traffic many of us deal with daily. Driving a manual in stop-and-go traffic for a 20 mile hour and a half commute is NOT fun for anyone.

Therefore, I think we can FORGIVE those who can only afford one car, must drive in less-than-fun conditions, and want that car to be a BMW.

I live in the country, have lots of twisties to enjoy my BMWs and toy cars on, but for commuting on accident prone roads in crppy traffic:
a nice sensible auto-equipped Oldsmobile. Makes sense to me.
