That speed story is entirely possible. The M635 with 286hp specs out at a top speed of 158 mph, which is rev limited, not drag limited. I've had mine up to 154 before I ran out of road, and it was still climbing strongly. 302 hp and a higher redline from the chip should get you to 163 without a problem.
