Cooler plugs will cause the plug electrodes to run cooler, but I doubt they will lower overell combustion temps except right around the plug itself.

Plugs have to stay hot enough (thin electrodes) to stay clean and not foul, but too thin (ie. too hot) so they melt or pre-ignite the mixture (detonate).
