Join the club. There are quite a few M635's here in the US that were defederalized after being imported. After all, why go to the trouble of importing one only to have the performance hindered by all that emissions crap. :)

Regarding the baffles, it's hard to diagnose without knowing exactly what you're looking at. My car has a long thin resonator between the headers and the muffler. The car is a little louder than a US M6, so I assume that without the resonator it would be even louder. How much louder is anyone's guess. My mechanic believes this is a stock euro part, but can't be sure since the joinery is custom because of the federalization buchery..

One of the problems is that any exhaust work is a custom solution with this car since there are no bolt on exhaust pieces forward of the rear muffler. I would assume that the baffles, if they are in the actual tail pipes, are doing little more than restricting flow. How much is hard to say. Taking them out and testing the car is the only way you'll know.

: my euro m6 has no cats, i found out today. is that normal? the old owner tack welded a set of baffles in the tail pipes to quiet the car, is that bad? If I take em out, will i need to adjust the engine, or will this improve the oscillation in my other post below? Thanks!

: newbie
