I don't have the idle problem in my M635, however, I do have the "rubberband" effect when coasting under no load at slow to moderate speeds. I suspect that they are unrelated, since the rubber banding has continued after the inspection II and very good tuneup.
I've always assumed this was a byproduct of the six individual throttle bodies, which makes for extremely fast throttle response; the engine is effectively ON, or not, with very little middleground. This makes the car a challenge to drive in traffic. Combined with the heavy clutch, it can be tiresome.
Does anyone else with an M635 experience the rubberband effect? I'm wondering if it's the nature of the beast or an issue with the transmission linkage.
: Hello, I recently purchased a euro m6, and it is STRONG. I have a problem, however. Upon starting the car, it idles fine when cold. After 30 seconds or so, it goes into a "vrum vrum vrum vrum" oscillation. I also notice this when I let off of the gas at speed, and the engine is not "under load." Give it a bit o' gas, and it is smooth again. This is troublesome when coasting at 45 in traffic, as I must give it gas to smooth it out, and then I go too fast! Any help will be appreciated.
