FYI, there might be a good chance that they took the badge off before repainting (and then added the new badge). If that is the case, taking off the current badge and removing the adhesive is pretty simple (dental floss and a hairdryer make short work of it). However, I would not advise reusing the old badge.
: My 86 635 had the rear repainted before i bought it, and they replaced the badge w/ a 635 CS. I was wondering, since to put the 635 CSi, i would have to move the badge and then the glue/black non painted areas would show- if anyone knew about getting the black shadow badge- the one with the black around the numbers. This background would cover all the stuff, and it will look pretty good when i get a black rear fin. (if anyone has seen the author of the Enthusiast's compainion's photos of his car, it looks good.)
