The problem is your heater valve (located on the firewall right above the brake cylinder). When the engine speed increases, the water pressure increases and if the heater valve is no longer working, the higher pressure will force the valve shut. Therefore you get heat when the engine idles but not when it is running.

It's an easy repair. You can either replace the valve or there is a rebuild kit available that replaces all of the internal parts of the valve that is cheaper... Your choice.
