Re: sticky throttle, and alarm key... (archive)

: Hello again, my euro m6 has another problem: the throttle stays open after I mash it, and revs up when I hit the clutch! OUCH! Is this the cable, or what? I think it corrects itself when I put my foot behind the pedal, and tug it back out. Is there a quick fix for the cable? can I run a new cable/sleeve through the firewall, and if I do, is it hard to do?

: Also: HOW IN THE HECK DOES THAT ALARM WORK? I put the key in that spot on the back, and it does not turn. I figured out how to set the key, but how about the socket it fits? Is there a way to reset it to match the key? HELP!!!!

The way the alrm work is the magnetic keying on the key itself. It doesn't turn or whatever. To set the alarm, lock the driver door to 3 o'clock, then insert the alarm key and watch for flashing lite, then remove the key- no turn/ twist. Reinsert key and pull out after lite flash to turn off alarm, then open master door lock. Good luck.
