I insured mine through ESSEX underwriters. They are about 1100/year collision/comp. My liability is around 250/yr. I am in Wilmington, NC, the highest NC "premium zone" for auto insurance.

AS FOR STATE FARM: they DO NOT insure gray mkt. cars. It is posssible to 'trick' them into insuring one, BUT, if you wreck it, you're SCREWED! Try explaining to the adjuster exactly why that 200 dollar bumper costs 575 dollars on your car... If the words EURO leave your mouth, POOF! They will deny your claim! Been there on my 745i...

As for the guy paying 180/month to insure his M6, WOW! My driving record SUCKS, and my insurance is half of that! I would look in to getting REAL gray market coverage, trust me! I have mine covered for up to 17 grand, and I paid 1100 for collision /comp...
