brake warning light flickers on when i brake (archive)

1987 635 uk spec. my brake warning light flickers on when ever i touch my brake pedal. I checked the fluid ,and had the instrument pannel out, all ok.
Also my pad warning light sometimes comes on for a while . the sensors have been diconnected!
