Help! Looking at 86 M6 European? and need guidance (archive)

I am looking at a 86 M6 that was purchased in Munich by the man I am buying it from. He is the original owner. What am I getting? It has the steering wheel on the left side, like american cars? How do I tell if it is an american M6 that he just purchased in Germany? Or if it is a M635 Euro? I think he is giving it away, only $11,000. The Car has 100,000 miles and a full service history. Is this a good deal, and what do I need to look for? Thanks in advance.
