: : : I was wondering where everyone buys there gas?
: I agree on Amoco and Mobil, but strongly disagree on the "use the highest octane" part. You should in fact use the LOWEST octane that your car needs; anything else is a waste of money with no added performance. You will get worse gas mileage with higher octane gas, since the octane rating is a measure of gas' anti-knock additive. It is not a "power rating." If your car has an aftermarket chip, or is knocking under load, you need higher octane gas. Otherwise, stick with what the manual recommends.
i couldn't agree more regarding the octane rating for gasoline. I see no reason to use the highest if it makes no difference to the performance. a similar argument to using synthetics for the motor oil.
As for quality gas, i have always had great results with Chevron in my E28. car pulls smoother and stronger and my MPG is even higher.
