My experience with synthetic oil has not been good. I bought a 1989 635csi in December. It did not burn oil or leak any other fluids. Two weeks ago I decided to put Valvoline 10-30 full synthetic oil in it when I changed my oil. It now has burned a quart of oil in the last two weeks, runs no better, and runs like crap when it is cold in the morning. Needless to say, she will have her oil changed again this weekend to the real stuff that BMW recommends.
My 2 cents worth.

: I have no record of the fluid history of a "new" 86' 635. Synthetic oil advantage? Standard oil 10-50? What are the reprocussions of changing oil brands and what do 6ers like to use?
