: : : My mechanic (private BMW guy) told me to disconnect 02 sensor to see if it was the problem w/ rough idle, missing, lurching pulling hills etc. I did, and it ran ok for a time, so I figured it was sensor. I replaced it with a Bosch, and now, after computer has "relearned", it's running like crap. Mechanic says probably air box? Any advise to save me $$$$ I don't have to diagnose this troublesome motronics system?

: : Rob,
: : I have the same problem with my 1985.
: : I've changed wires, plugs, O2 Sensor, the idle control valve, and a list of others. Please tell me, does your car tend to miss at 60km/h or about 1700 rpm and do you have a problem with it burning rich? Does it also run on 5 cylinders when you first start it up?
: : I hate to bother you with no solution, but I have had no luck in with this problem also. Sorry,

Rob, Mine doesn't seem to run rich, but does miss at approx. 1700 RPM WITH O2 sensor plugged in. I just changed plugs (Bosch Silvers), had vaves adjusted, and ran Techron thru system which smoothed idle a bit, but it still misses(rocks, and rolls) at low R's, and pulling hills. Also, I understand mine, the California model, tends to run too lean due to smog crap.
Hope this helps.
