I think we'd need more information to help you out. Does this only happen from a standing start, or does it happen when you are at speed and step on it? Does it happen when the car is cold, or at any operating temperature? Does it happen on the straight, or going around turns?
I ask these because I've noticed that I *very* occasionally get some slip when the car is first starting out, and also around sharp turns at low speed when heading up hill. If it was your clutch, you would notice some over-reving *everytime* you put torque to the wheels (with the degree of torque required being an indication of what shape your clutch is in). The fact that you've only experienced this phenomenon once or twice leads me to believe that it is the limitedslip kicking in for one reason or another.
: Thanks Alex,
: Does it sound like anything I should look into or worry about??
: : You do, however, have a limited slip differential, which probably accounts for the behavior you noticed.
: : : : Once or twice I noticed what I thought was my tranny slip when I jump on it. Is my clutch going or is their some sort of traction control on my M6.

: : : No!
: : : Traction Control was not offered on the E-24.
