Rough idle below 2000 rpm (archive)

My 87 M6 sputters till about 2000 rpm then it takes off. I noticed when I first got the car my average mileage was roughly 18 mpg and now the in-dash gizmo says I get 12.7 mpg.

Hmmmm...?

Any suggestions?? Should I worry??
