BMP polyurethane thrust arm bushings: $129.95 plus labor (though you can easily pull the arms and bring to a press to have the bushings replaced)

You more than likely will have to replace the u-joints.

True, a rebuilt or new driveline can go $500 plus $50 fror a guibo.

With a very good shape car I have spent over 4 grand just to get it up to min performance capibility. This car was in great shape. Be ready to spend money or learn to be a knuckle buster and get some jack stands. These cars ain't cheep

I hear these horror stories all the time. I think a lot of it is getting a good buyer's inspection and finding a competent shop that doesn't gouge BMW owners. It's too bad the cars get a black eye this way.
