Noise during first moment of rapid accelleration (archive)

1986CSi Auto w/133,000 miles. Just replaced drive line and drive line u-joints. Sounds kind of like shudder with 3-4 bang, bang, bangs under the back seat. Just loud enough to hear during the first second of hard accelleration. If I hadn't replaced the drive line I would think it was the u-joints. Sounds like something is torquing aganist something during a load. Is torquing a word? Is this a subframe thing? Sounds more like a gear thing to me. Its more of a grind than a bang.
