It's a 635 CSi with the same switchable sport tranmission that the prior year L6 came out with. The L6 was only produced one year which was 1987. Although the similar sporty econ/sport transmission and interior similarities were passed on to the final two years of the 6-series. The vehicle in question is in fact a 635 CSi.
